Not keeping the settings I setup

Post by microbert »

Hi,

First of all I really like the applications, and it is very easy and fast to use.

But I have been encountering a problem which is driving me crazy.

I set up the index location and excluding folders, and other settings and it works fine, but when i shut down the pc and then on again it will reset these settings and it is like I have just installed it.

Is there a way to keep the settings saved from boot to next boot?

I am using windows 7 (64bit) and i have installed Everything-1.3.4.676b.x64-Setup

I'm having trouble reproducing this error, do you have Store settings and data in %APPDATA%\Everything enabled?
Are you running Everything as administrator?

When Store settings and data in %APPDATA%\Everything is disabled, Everything will save settings to the same location as Everything.exe

This issue will occur when you disable Store settings and data in %APPDATA%\Everything and don't have permission to write to C:\Program Files\Everything (or wherever you installed Everything).

The virtual store is disabled in Everything. Please enable Store settings and data in %APPDATA%\Everything from Tools -> Options -> General or run Everything as administrator.

Hi,

I have not store settings in AppData since I tought it is a good idea to store the data in the installation folder.

But I will setup the options again and see what happens.

I will keep you post it with the result.

Hi,

the problem was that it was not storing the settings in the installation folder and when I set it to install in the AppData like you have suggested - worked fine.

thanks for your help ;)
