Hi David,
I've downloaded the latest alpha version of Everything, i.e., the following one:
http://www.voidtools.com/Everything-1.2.1.426a.zip
When I use it, I found the following error in the Errorlog.txt:
------------------
db::_monitor_thread_proc(): GetOverlappedResult(): 87: Failed to get overlapped result for drive C:
------------------
Dose it harm? Why does this happen? Any hints will be highly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
Hongsheng Zhao.

Re: Everything 1.2.1.426:Failed to get overlapped result
How many errors, is it just the one error?
Is there anything that might have happened to the monitoring state?
For example, suspending the computer, or plugging in / removing a drive?

Re: Everything 1.2.1.426:Failed to get overlapped result
1- Till now, I've only seen this only one error.David wrote:How many errors, is it just the one error?

2- Nothing happened to monitoring state. I just use my computer as usual, i.e., starting/rebooting it normally, no flash drive being plugged in / removed off and so on.
Additionally, I noticed the following strange things:
I use CodeStuff Starter as my startup manager. When I set Everything 1.2.1.426 to start on system startup, the corresponding entry will be added to the CodeStuff Starter as follows:
--------------------------
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run]
"Everything"="\"path\\to\\Everything-1.2.1.426a.exe\" -startup"
-------------------------
In this case, the error I've reported here will appear.
if I change the above startup entry to the following one, the error I've reported here will dissappear:
-------------------------
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run]
"Everything"="\"path\\to\\Everything-1.2.1.426a.exe\" -startup"
-------------------------
Best regards.
Re: Everything 1.2.1.426:Failed to get overlapped result
It is nothing to worry about.
I may need to make the monitoring states a little more error prone.
You mentioned
I assume the path has changed?
Thanks for your support.

In both cases, the Everything-1.2.1.426a.exe is put into the same directory.David wrote:It is nothing to worry about.

Re: Everything 1.2.1.426:Failed to get overlapped result
I have re-written USN Journal monitoring.
It should fix this problem.
To try it, please replace your Everything.exe with:
http://www.voidtools.com/Everything-1.2.1.432a.zip
