I have a NAS on my network that is usually spun down. I also have my secondary hard drives usually spun down in my desktop.
Whenever I run a search, and Everything has to load file size, dates, etc, it will cause the drive(s) to spin up. Is there a way to stop this from happening? Thanks.
Stop Everything from spinning up drives when searching?
Re: Stop Everything from spinning up drives when searching?
Please try file lists as they will not access the file size/dates from disk.
The down side to using file lists is keeping them up to date.
Things will improve in the next release of Everything...
There will be an option to index sizes and dates for folder indexes so it doesn't need to wake the drives up.

Thanks, I'll give that a try.
Looking forward to the next release! I have my NAS mounted as Folders, so it'd be nice to see an option there to manually update files. These files aren't updated that often, either.
