Hi All,
First of all I would like to say that "everything" is the single most useful tool I am running on my pc, I can do without other utilities but not without "everything" so thank you for this brilliant piece of software.
I am running version 1.2.1.371 on windows 8.1 and it starts on startup.
The problem I am running through is that every executable I run from everything seems to have a different user privilage, preventing me to open files, or save edited files even, e.g.
1) I execute notepad++.exe from everything, when I drag a text file from my desktop it will not open it.
2) I for example cannot even execute notepad.exe from everything.
I tried running everything as administrator and it did not fix this issue.
Any help is appreciated.
Everything executed software has different user privilages
Re: Everything executed software has different user privilag
This issue is caused by Everything 1.2 running as an administrator.
Please consider upgrading to Everything 1.3
Everything 1.3 can run as a standard user so applications you run from Everything will also run as a standard user.
You will need to install the Everything service from the Everything installer (this will be the default option).

Re: Everything executed software has different user privilag
I updated to Everything 1.3 and I think the problem is solved.
I still cannot execute notepad.exe though, I just realized that everything does not find the notepad.exe in system32 folder. Are system folders excluded as a security measure, or is it because everything is not running as administrator. Btw it is not that running notepad.exe from everything is a crucial thing to do, I am simply asking out of curiosity.
Thanks.

Most likely this, http://www.voidtools.com/forum/viewtopi ... 63&p=13830.
With the same "solution", so try the "Everything" version 1.4 Beta.
