(Almost) Everything?

Post by VenusAndMars »

I use version 1.3.4.686 and it does not index an external drive nor, obviously, find files on it:

Why is that?
Thank you.

Your external USB H: drive is most likely formatted with FAT32.

Everything will only index NTFS volumes by default.

You will need to either:

1). Convert your external USB H: drive to NTFS:

-or-

2). Add the FAT32 volume as a folder index:
  • In Everything, from the Tools menu, click Options.
  • Click the Folders tab.
  • Click Add....
  • Select the external USB H: drive and click OK.
  • Click OK.

The link seems to be no longer good.
Is there another?
My USB drive is exFAT, will Everything treat this the same as FAT32?

Everythings only indexes NTFS file systems
and there is no way to change exFAT to NTFS without loosing data.
So you have to backup, reformat and restore
