Windows 10 - Not showing network drives

Installed 1.3.4.686 on a Windows 10 machine. When going to select folders, mapped network drives are not showing up. Any ideas?

If you run Everything as administrator you will not see mapped network drives mounted from a standard user.

Please try running Everything as a standard user and install the Everything service:

• In Everything, from the Tools menu, click Options.
• Click the General tab.
• Check Everything Service
• Uncheck run as administrator.
• Click OK.
• Restart Everything.

Yeah, I've read about that before, at least here, Mapped Network Drive not shown & probably in these forums too.

Even just today, happened to have an administrative level command prompt open, & ran firefox.exe from that. Then I was not able to install an extension into FF dragged from a "standard-level" Windows Explorer window.

The version you are using is over 2 years old. A lot of improvements have been made since then. Many thanks to David (void)!

Everything was not including mapped network drives on my wife's laptop and my laptop. I installed 1.4.0.713b.x64 on my desktop and the two laptops.
My desktop has several drives that I've shared out and mapped on the two laptops. I've performed the above suggestions but still Everything is not searching the mapped drives on the two laptops. I thought Everything was searching the network drives in the past but I'm not sure of this statement.

All three systems recently install Windows 10 updates.

FYI - When using xplorer2 (file manager) I see the network drives on the laptop.

Could you please send the first few lines of debug info for your Everything:

• In Everything, please Ctrl + ~
• What is displayed at the top of the debug console?
  You should see something like:

Have the network drives been added to your folder indexes (Tools -> Options -> Folders) or are the network drives not available?

I'm having issues pressing the required keys. You state "In Everything, please Ctrl + ~" on my keyboard the + and ~ require that I also press the shift key, is this what you are expecting? If I do press the shift key nothing seems to happen. However if I just press the three keys I get a window that is different from yours. See the following image of what I get. Is this the debug screen?

Also on my laptop I noticed in the above window I noticed an error, see the following image.

Also I noticed that both laptops are scanning the drives every time Everything is opened, whereas on my desktop it does not scan the drives when Everything is opened. On my laptop I have 6 USB attached drives and the scan takes about 5 minutes because the laptop is old. My wife's laptop is MUCH slower than my laptop but Everything is only scanning the local drive.

On my wife's laptop only the local drive shows but via xplorer2 I can access the drives.

All seems to take a long time on both systems. On my system the boot drive is a Corsair Force 3 SSD 250 GB, I also have a 2nd drive installed in the laptop (500GB), all the other drives are USB attached 2TB and 3TB.
Most of the time in the bottom left corner I see "Scanning" followed by the drive letter but sometimes I see something about indexing (this disappeared before I could capture an image.

As a test if I click Tools > Options > Folders and add one of the network drives (I click add, Network, S4 (this is my desktop), select the drive (S4-S-WDRed4TB, it is added as \\S4\S4-S-WDRed4TB and is ignored by Everything.

However if I click Tools > Options > Folders and add one of the network drives > click on This PC > scroll down and select the mapped drive (S4-S-WDRed4TB (\\S4) (S:)) it is added as S:\ and Everything now displays what I'm searching for on that drive.

On the laptops xplorer2 is NOT running as admin. I verified this in the taskmgr > Elevated column.

I just tested on my wife's laptop. When I started Everything all the drives were scanned. I then clicked Tools > Options > Folders (under Indexes) and add one of the network drives > click on This PC > scroll down and select the mapped drive (S4-R-WDRed4TB (\\S4) (R:)) , it was added at R:\, then clicked the apply button. After the drive was scanned (gee this too a long time, 6TB drive). I closed Everything and restarted, YEA the drives were not scanned. It seems that adding a network drive did something that eliminated Everything to use the db.

Please try increasing your USN Journal sizes:

• In Everything, from the Tools menu, click Options.
• Click the NTFS tab.
• For each NTFS volume:
  • Change Maximum Size to:
    65536 KB
• Click OK.

I'll need to see the debug output to figure out why Everything is rescanning:

• Completely exit Everything (Right click the Everything tray icon and click Exit)
• Open your %APPDATA%\Everything\Everything.ini
• Change the following line:
  debug=0
  to:
  debug=1
• Save changes and restart Everything
• What is displayed in the debug console after Everything rescans?

You can toggle the debug console here with Ctrl + ` in Everything.

Changing versions will require a rebuild, if you wish to run multiple version, please consider multiple instances.
