I lost an external hard drive - totally trashed. I think I had important stuff backed up but sure. Can I start Everything and look in database for that hard drive to see what directories and files it contained.
I think I would need to start Everything without it automatically reindexing since that hard drive now no longer exists.
Basically, I want to see yesterdays copy of the db.
Alternatively, can I access the db with another program (e.g. MS Access)?
Thanks,
Dave
Hard Drive Crash
Re: Hard Drive Crash
See here, Option to freeze database.
I would backup the existing database first.
(Or even put 389b & a copy of the database into its' own directory.)
And wait on void to confirm what I've said.

Like therube said..
Make a backup of your "Everything" database and copy it to an empty directory with "Everything" 389b from:
Option to freeze database.
