After downloading and installing "Everything" on my new computer, I could not select and search by category under the "Search" option in the menu bar because there just weren't any. Usually, there are search categories like Documents, Folders, Pictures, and Videos. There is even the option to add my own categories, like Email or Executable.
I have been using this software for a couple of years, I suppose, and I have never had this happen. There is always the search categories listed under "Search" in the menu bar. Now it lists these options:
1. Match Case
2. Match Whole Word
3. Match Path
Then beneath a fine horizontal line there is:
Enable Regex (whatever that means)
Is there a way to get back the "Search" categories"
The "Search" menu option is not showing selective search categories

Does this work for you? :
Menu:Search > Organize Filters ... > Click the Reset button
Menu:Search > Organize Filters ... > Click the Reset button

Sorry for the bother. When I updated it, the "Search" categories were back.

No bother at all. Glad it works again (and to know that Everything has some serious self-healing magic powers )fenpeppertree wrote:Sorry for the bother. When I updated it, the "Search" categories were back.
Thanks for the feedback!
