Theoretically speaking...
Look at NTFS tab for example.
There is an items box (drives), and settings for each item at bottom.
I think the way of this design is not clear enough. The user might think the settings at bottom has nothing to do with the items box above it.
You can find such a case in this thread. (and I think that this confusion is not a single case.)
Does anyone have an idea how to make the design more clear?
Do you have an idea to improve Options dialog-box?
Re: Do you have an idea to improve Options dialog-box?
The layout is the same throughout all the Option dialogs.
The settings of a chosen list-item are all in a frame below this list and it's "header" is [text] chosen item [more text]
Like below: The header is "Settings for <chosen item> context menu item"
I think it will help if <chosen item> is displayed in bold.

Good idea.I think it will help if <chosen item> is displayed in bold.
I will add more suggestions:
2. Make the frame surround also the box.
3. Make the font color/design of the two <chosen item> the same, so that it will more easy to understand it's the same.
Re: Do you have an idea to improve Options dialog-box?
haha, that was my first idea, too: using the selected-item-layout.
I even tried to create it in an editor (just like you), but I'm very clumsy with that stuff.
What I eventually build, was a bit "loud" and "in your face" (Yours look way more subtle), so I opted for the bold font.

I have no problem with that you was first. Probably I didn't understand you correctly.NotNull wrote:haha, that was my first idea, too: using the selected-item-layout.

No, no, I wanted to say that my first idea was the same as the one you posted, but I eventually posted my second idea (the bold font one).Stamimail wrote:I have no problem with that you was first. I'm not a very "I was first" type of guy, so you can rule that out in case of future misunderstandings

Noted, thanks for the suggestions.2. Make the frame surround also the box.
