toggle window looses the search - how to fix

action of opening and searching in everything is excellent. use hotkey to toggle the window ie collapse to the taskbar then open it again with toggle view hot key and the window is a new search. I have turned the options on and off all over and cant restore a feature it always used to have for me. no idea where i lost this feature!

Please help to return my favorite app to its rightful place at #1.

verison is 904 and windows 64bit 10.

To set a hot key to toggle the Everything search window:

• In Everything, from the Tools menu, click Options.
• Click the Keyboard tab on the left.
• Click in the Toggle window Hotkey field and press a new keyboard shortcut.
• Click OK.

Excellent reply except I already have done that! What i need is that toggle to NOT clear or destroy my currently active everything search! It used to have that action whether by design or settings, somehow that ability has been lost.

When I search in everything and the results are displayed, toggle window to minimise it, it goes, then toggle window to bring it back and wollah the search term and results that were previously displayed have reverted to a new search window. I want it to just hide/show the window. ie TOGGLE the window. There are other keys for NEW window etc.

Sorry for the misunderstanding.

Please try enabling remember search:

• In Everything, from the Tools menu, click Options.
• Click the Home tab on the left.
• Change Search to: Use last value.
• Click OK.
