Hi
I just started using Everything and still testing it how it works. I was looking for the database, everything.db... and I can't find it. I didn't set a specific location, so Database location in Tools/Options/Indexes is empty.
Where should it be?
Thanks!
Where is everything.db?
Re: Where is everything.db?
Depends on your setup.
But why don't you use Everything itself and search for everything.db
It is only created / updated on stop of Everything.

Re: Where is everything.db?
If I search for 'everything.db' it doesn't find anything. If I search for 'everything' it still doesn't find it.See attached screenshots.

Re: Where is everything.db?
Like @horst.epp already mentioned: the database will be written to disk only if you exit Everything. If this is the first time you are running Everything, there will be no database on disk.
After you exited Everything, the database will most likely be in the same folder where your Everything.exe is OR in %LOCALAPPDATA%\Everything (which would 'translate' te something like: C:\Users\johnny\AppData\Local\Everything\Everything.db)
Try it with the following steps:
- Exit Everything by righ-clicking the Everything icon in the systemtray > Exit
- Start Everything through it's shortcut
- search for:
Now you should be able to find the database.

Re: Where is everything.db?
Thank you @horst.epp and @NotNull, I had to exit Everything and the file is now where it should be.
Thanks!
Thanks!

@SuperDude, thank you, yoo, of course!
It's tricky the first time using any tools.

That sounds familiarjohnny wrote:It's tricky the first time using any tools.
Everything is one of those tools that's definitely worth to get to know better (of course I'm completely unbiased and objective here )
