so Everything is so nice I'm using it more and more as a file manager...
find folder x
find file y
cut/paste the file into the folder to move it, using the two Everything windows
but of course this ties up Everything for the duration of the move, which can sometimes be 15 minutes, if the file is huge
am I missing a setting that allows Everything to trigger a different mechanism for copying, like using the system default (which in my case is Directory Opus) ?
copying files between two Everything instances...
Re: copying files between two Everything instances...
I have Total Commander as file manager which fully integrates Everything search.
So I have the search power of Evertying and the non-blocking copy / move function of my file manager.
I remember that there where some scripts developed for Directory Opus
but the best would be using the Everyting SDK integration for it.

Re: copying files between two Everything instances...
I'll take another look at that.
Thanks!
Last time I looked I was scared off by the 2009 instructions

Re: copying files between two Everything instances...
If you double-click /Enter the folder in Everything, does that open Directory Opus with that folder?
(that would be a workaround for now then: double-click the folder and paste the file in Directory Opus. Directory Opus will handle the copying then.
