Problem indexing encrypted system drive
Problem indexing encrypted system drive
I have a problem with C: drive encrypted with diskcryptor indexing. I have this drive checked in indexing options and I can use /reindex=C: with no luck. The index is empty
Re: Problem indexing encrypted system drive
Are you running Everything as administrator?
Please enable Everything Service and disable Run as administrator.
Both can be found under Menu:Tools > Options > General.

Re: Problem indexing encrypted system drive
I've tried running as administrator and as limited user. I've tried check/uncheck 'Run as administrator' mark and reindex database. No luck.
Re: Problem indexing encrypted system drive
I guess Everything not using DiskCryptor driver to parse MFT table, because when I manually add C:\ folder to index in options, it works correctly (I guess using WinAPI calls).
Re: Problem indexing encrypted system drive
I had plans to check the website to see if there was some information on the inner working of diskcryptor, but the website certificate has expired (almost half a year ago) and the last update for this program was over 5 years ago.
So I can't help you any further, other than trying to add your C:=drive using folder indexing (Menu: Tools > Options > Indexes > Folders )
Or consider an alternative for diskcryptor? (like VeraCrypt, for example) as this one seems abandoned.
