Toolbar for quick bookmark access?

I've set up a number of bookmarks to show recent files (e.g. recent JPGs, recent PDFs, etc.).

Is it possible to add a toolbar above (ideally) or below the search bar to allow for one click access to bookmarks? Much how they work in Chrome/Firefox -- especially allowing for an icon to give a quick visual confirmation of the bookmark -- would be ideal.
