Just wondering if anyone else is experiencing high memory usage in 1.2.1.371?
At the moment my XP SP3 machine has been up 5 days, and Everything reports shy of 337,500 objects when I drop a * in the search box.
Current memory usage of Everything is up around 350mb though. If I restart Everything its back at around 13mb at startup, up to 23mb upon * search,
then drops back to 3mb-6mb after sitting idle.
High memory usage
Re: High memory usage
This looks like a memory leak in the Visual C run time libraries.
This should be fixed in the next release of "Everything".
Does the problem occur when disabling monitoring for all volumes?

Re: High memory usage
Sorry to resurrect such an old thread, but it's the only reference I could find to this issue. I'm having the same problem, very similar setup (Windows XP SP3, single 80GB HDD, about 525,000 files in 130,000 directories). At startup Everything takes 20-25MB of memory, after a few days (and several suspend/wake cycles, some defrags running overnight, etc.) I'm up to about 125 MB.
When you said disable monitoring for all volumes, did you mean unchecking the "Monitor changes" option in the Volumes tab of the Options, or some other setting?
Also, is there a newer beta version I could try that might resolve this?

"Everything" version 1.2.1.451ais there a newer beta version I could try that might resolve this?
Re: High memory usage
Thanks, I'm running that now. We'll see in about 5 days or so if it resolves this. ;]
Re: High memory usage
Been a while, haven't had high memory usage issues anymore - consider this one fixed - thanks!
