How can I automatically hide a file type from searches?

Post by YaSo »

(What I would like to do is probably easy, but I just cannot figure it out.)

I would like to set it up so that a specific file type (.lnk for example) is not shown in search results. I would rather not have to add a ' -*.lnk ' modifier each time I enter a search.

Is there a tutorial or guide somewhere that explains this? Or is it easy to explain in a reply post that I would slap my head and say "Ahhh! OK!"

Thanks in advance for help on this!

Tools->Options->Indexes->Exclude: Tick Enable Exclude List, Type *.lnk in Exclude files: field, click Apply
