If you, Display a Column, Set Sort to that column, then Hide that Column, sort is maintained on that hidden column.
Not a big deal, just an oddity (when you look at your list & don't understand the sorting).
Display Column, Set Sort, Hide Column
Re: Display Column, Set Sort, Hide Column
... and I am glad that it works that way, as my default sort is by Run Count (most used files/folders/programs on top), but I have no interest in seeing the actual runcounts
(you are probably already aware of it, but for other people reading this:)
the sort-column is shown in a slightly darker colour (*) and the column header has a tiny "triangle" to show the sort order (ascending/descending).
(*) That can be configured under Options > Fonts and colors

Re: Display Column, Set Sort, Hide Column
This is the intended behavior.
You can also set the sort from View -> Sort By without having the column visible.
What behavior would you like? -Some ideas:
Would you like an option to reset the sort to name ascending or other sort?
Keep the column visible while it is an active sort?
Show something in the status bar, eg: Sorted by path.

Re: Display Column, Set Sort, Hide Column
(No change for me.
I simply thought it was odd.
Visible while active, certainly not.
Status bar, eh, not really.
More just odd, & when you haven't run into it before...
But once you have, it's like, oh.)
