High memory usage

Post by snk »

Hi,

I found a similar post about this problem, but its old and i'm not running the same setup as described in the other post. My setup: Intel Core 2 Quad Q9450, 8 GB RAM, Windows 7 64 bit, 500 GB harddrive.
Everything has been running a week or so on my machine (which is never turned off), is has indexed around 340k objects and its consuming 1300 mb of memory, which seems like a lot!

Please let me know if you need further information.

Regards

This leak is mostly likely related to an issue with certain CRT library implementations and thread creation / destruction.

It should be fixed for the next release of "Everything"..

You might like to try the latest alpha release if you are experiencing memory leakage:

You can alternatively disable monitoring for each volume.

To disable monitoring for all volumes:
  • In "Everything", from the Tools menu, click Options.
  • Click the Volumes tab.
  • For each volume in the local NTFS volumes list:
    • Uncheck Monitor changes.
  • Click OK.

Thank you, disabling the monitoring for volumes sovled my problem. I'm keeping an eye on the alpha releases ;-)
