Windows 7 + RAID 1 (PCI Controller)

Post by flax »

Hi!

After changing to a new Windows 7 PC Everything doesn't found anything on a hdd e: which is connected to the mainboard through a PCI RAID controller with VIA chipset.

With the old PC, XP + RAID controller on mainboard there was no problem.

Is there any trick?

Options on the drives tab in tools are the same like drive c:, chkdsk show no errors, and type is ntfs ... Using Everything zip version :?: :(

Are there any errors reported in your Errorlog.txt file in your "Everything" installation folder?

Sorry, there is no error logfile.

I also tried the everything with installer, complete deinstallation + registry cleaning -> no difference, hdd on raid controller isn't in database

What does fsutil say about your ntfs information?

To get ntfs information from fsutil:
  • From the Start menu, click Run.
  • Type in

    Code: Select all

    cmd
    and press Enter.
  • In the command prompt:
  • Type in

    Code: Select all

    fsutil fsinfo ntfsinfo e:
    and press Enter.
  • What is the output of fsutil?

Please try the following:
  • Exit "Everything".
  • Rename your Everything.ini file in your "Everything" installation folder to Everything.backup.ini
  • Run "Everything" with the command line option -debug, for example:

    Code: Select all

    Everything.exe -debug
  • When "Everything" has finisehd indexing, what is displayed in the debug console ?

Hello Void!

I do it, but not so much happened: At the beginning Everything shows ~ 126.000 objects in the statusbar and this counter increase very, very slowly. Now - 4 hours later - there are ~132.000 objects but i don't see files within path e:/....

A Screenshot from the debugger is here

I use TreeSize free to look how much files are on the hdd's: it show's ~ 194.318 with and 130.715 files without E:/

Sorry a lot of work to you :( Thank you

Bye
