mutated vowel / Umlaute - nodiacritics: or diacritics:

Post by data »

Hi guys

As discussed earlier, I still have not understood how the search really works.

If I search for "Madchen" I get hits that contain the term "Mädchen" as well.
Whether I use "nodiacritics:" or "diacritics:" doesn't matter, always the same result.
Only when I use "regex:" do I get the desired result.

How do I force Everything to the correct result?

best regards
Martin

This is your first post on this forum. Where did you discuss this before?

Anyway, this is what I see on my system (and this what should happen):
What happens if you use these exact same searches in your Everything?

Make sure only the "Everything" entry is enabled under Menu:Search.

A couple of questions:
What version of Everything are you running?
You are searching for files on your S:-drive. What filesystem is it? NTFS? Fat32? ..?

You're using
regex:
which is throwing things off for you.

(The real trouble, if you want to think of it that way, is something like Maedchen.)
