Been trying to resolve an indexing issue for some time. Wondering if Everything in any way interacts with WSearch service? Just trying to rule out the possibles.
Indexing will not turn on. I've run the Sfc /Scannow and it completes but then cannot complete some other part. I've reinstalled the OS over the current install.
I guess I'm just looking for assurance that Everything has nothing to do with this issue.
Thanks!
Wsearch fails - any connection to everything?
Re: Wsearch fails - any connection to everything?
Everything does not use Windows Search or the Windows Search service.
If you exit Everything does it help start Windows Search?

Re: Wsearch fails - any connection to everything?
I stopped Everything - only here or in a comic book would you ever read that!
It did not make a difference, wsearch cannot even find its own description now! Did I mention I refreshed the OS with a USB repair/install program that was supposed to fix everything and bring everything up to date. It did mention some security stuff, but search still does not run. I spoke to MS support they thought the os refresh would solve it. I can't start the wsearch service: Could not start the WSearch service on local Computer. Error 5: Access denied
Anyway, thank you for eliminating Everything from having anything to do with the service failure.
Stay safe.
