Hi all!
A couple of days ago Everything started getting almost unusable for me.
Until then I used it on a two SSD machine with about 4Mio files, plus I loaded ~30Mio filenames from an .efu file.
This setup worked perfectly fine since years.
The .efu file needed a couple of seconds to load, then file search was quick and nice.
From one day to the other Everything started to be getting unresponsive whenever I key in a search.
It takes a long time to end the search until then a cursor is spinning over the everything windows.
The Window content is greyed.
I tried re-installing but the issue remains.
I tried not loading the .efu does not help the issue remains.
I'd very much appreciate any hints how get Everything back to normal.
Thanks in advance.
Tom

Re: Everything unresponsive
Everything might be trying to process changes to your C: drive.
Please try forcing a "Everything" to build a fresh index:
Please try forcing a "Everything" to build a fresh index:
- Terminate Everything:
- Press Ctrl + Shift + ESC to open the Task Manager.
- In the Task Manager, Click the Applications tab.
- Select Everything and click End Task.
- In Windows Explorer, type in the following address:
%LOCALAPPDATA%\Everything - Delete your Everything.db
- Restart Everything.
- After Everything rebuilds, does the unresponsive issue persist?
Re: Everything unresponsive
Thank you so much for the prompt reply!
I tried that already and the issue remained.
However, it seems as lightning fast as before, after having toggled some setting.
I am not sure what brought the improvement.
But you might be on the right track related to changes on c: as another indexer is doing changes to the file system.
However, I never ran into this before and I am using Everything almost a year on this machine.
Wonderful program!
Kind regards,
Tom
