Can one show the run time of movie files in the results?

(Theoretically, maybe, you could define your own columns.
Such that any data available via the 'Properties' dialog of an item, could be set up as a column, with that information displayed, as available...
So you want Video Length, you just assign a new column, media_vid_len, & Everything goes out & queries that...)
Otherwise, PlayTime works nicely as a 'SendTo' item.

Re: Can one show the run time of movie files in the results?
Oops, sorry....that is...I am very...sor....well, I mean....somebody must have cracked my account and...and he just has asked this question...before I could....very ugly such...!...
So simply creating a new column with "media_vid_len" is all I would have to do? Where / how can I create a new one? (Hope, I...that odd person did not already ask this as well)
Actually I do not like Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, but that track is not bad. This one is still better: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=npp5Mc2NITo

I don't see how you can have such a column for Everything results ?therube wrote: ↑Sat Aug 08, 2020 12:33 pm (Theoretically, maybe, you could define your own columns.

If you look on the 13 available columns there are non of the media releated properties.
Its no problem to do that in Windows Explorer or a file manager like Total commander with custom views.
Re: Can one show the run time of movie files in the results?
I didn't say you could.Theoretically, maybe
The data exists.
There are ways to access said data, a call from Everything to some Windows facility.
Data gets returned to Everything, in a variable, lets call it media_vid_len.
Everything (theoretically) allows you to add a new column, give it name, Media Length, & uses the variable, media_vid_len, to file in the length of the media...

Of course everything can be programed in the futuretherube wrote: ↑Sat Aug 08, 2020 3:24 pmI didn't say you could.Theoretically, maybe

But the original poster just asked for "showing run time of movie files in the results"
So currently he can't and should use his file manager because there is no problem to show this in a column.
Re: Can one show the run time of movie files in the results?
Sorry for misunderständing and my confusion. So now there is no (acceptable / easy / convenenient) way to show / scan the run time with Everything (in the status it is at the moment)?Theoretically, maybe
I didn't say you could.

Unfortunately that is not possivle (besides of for the drives plugged in) as it can not store file lists (like Everything does) of other drives (not being plugged in). Respectively I would like to do it with Everything as it stores the file and folder names anyway. So currently he can't and should use his file manager because there is no problem to show this in a column.
