Export/Dump the file/directory index/listing?
Export/Dump the file/directory index/listing?
Hi guys, my HDD just died. Is there a way to export/dump the file/directory index/listing of Everything so I can rebuild my collection using the file index/listing as reference?
Re: Export/Dump the file/directory index/listing?
Sorry to hear about the hdd loss.
To recover your filenames from your Everything.db please try the Database recovery tool.

Thank you so much! Yes I was devastated. I sent the HDD to specialist for a free diagnosis and found out 1 of the 8 read head is damaged. Although the data is technically recoverable I can't afford the price.void wrote: ↑Thu Sep 17, 2020 4:51 am Sorry to hear about the hdd loss.

Ouch, I managed to convert the .efu file but unfortunately files from unavailable drives are not listed...
Re: Export/Dump the file/directory index/listing?
You would need to run db2efu before exiting Everything.
The Everything.db is updated on disk when you exit Everything.
Everything likes to remove 'offline' volumes from your index.
Unfortunately, this means the filenames are no longer stored in your Everything.db.
