Hi,
Trying to install "Everything-1.4.1.992.x64-Setup.exe", I get this error:
Kind regards,
Michel.
Installation error
Re: Installation error
Is your computer 64-bit?
Does the hash of your download agree with this: ?
HashMyFiles - Calculate MD5/SHA1/CRC32 hashes of your files.
(You may have to specifically enable SHA256 in the program.)
If you download the ZIP version, unpack it somewhere & run it, does it run successfully?
Might try closing other programs, then attempt the installer again?
Might try restarting your computer, then attempt the installer again?

Re: Installation error
Error 32 means the installer was unable to copy Everything.exe as it is currently running (sharing violation).
This most common cause is Everything is still running under another user account.
This error can also occur when Everything or the Everything Service is still running.
It can also be caused by a pending delete on the Everything Service.
Please try the following:

Please try the following:
- Exit Everything manually for all logged in users.
- Re-install Everything
- Uninstall Everything.
- Restart your PC
- Re-install Everything
Re: Installation error
OK, removing it, rebooting (yes, it is required), reinstall it: no more error!
I didn't want to do that to keep my parameters, so I expected something else… Is it not possible to modify the installation script so that uninstalling and rebooting is not required?
Thanks a lot.

Re: Installation error
Normally, Everything should be able to install over the top of the existing installation. Is it not possible to modify the installation script so that uninstalling and rebooting is not required?
The installer can run into this issue when the Everything Service gets scheduled for removal instead of deleted.
To keep your settings (without uninstalling) try the following:
- Open the Task Manager with Ctrl + Shift + ESC.
- Click the Details tab.
- Select Everything.exe and click End task.
- From the Start menu, type in services
- Right click Services and click Run as administrator.
- Select Everything
- Right click Everything and click Stop.
- Wait for the Everything Service to stop, this can take a minute.
- Reinstall Everything.
