Can't open excel files

I used the newest version 1.2.1.451a,if the application excel is already running,i can not open the excel file from Everything.
but it works well when i used the version 1.2.1.371

What version of Windows?
And x86 or x64?

What version of Excel?
Does Excel come come in an x64 variety?

And you are doing what, clicking on an .xls from within Everything?

Does the same happen with Word?

(Not able to confirm it on my end with Excel "2002".)

Please try disabling Execute in a separate thread.

To disable Execute in a separate thread:

• In "Everything" from the Tools menu, click Options.
• Click the View tab.
• In the Advanced settings list, from the General folder, uncheck Execute in a separate thread.
• Click OK.
