Everything doesn't list anything from my C: drive

Post by rpsgc »

I don't know what happened but a few days ago I noticed that Everything stopped listing anything from my main C: drive, and I mean anything.

Any ideas?

Everything can create an empty database if access to NTFS volumes is denied.

Please make sure "Everything" has administrative privileges.

Please try the following:
  • Exit "Everything".
  • Delete the "Everything.db" file in your Everything installation folder.
  • Restart "Everything".
If other volumes are working, please check the C: drive for errors.

Thanks for replying,

I've done all that but the problem remains.

P.S.: I have to make a correction, it does in fact list some things from C:

The following folders (and any subfolders):
$Recycle.Bin
found.000
PerfLogs

and pagefile.sys

The file system on your c: drive might be corrupt.

Please run chkdsk on your c: drive.

To run chkdsk:
  • From the start menu, click run.
  • Enter cmd
  • Enter chkdsk c:
Does chkdsk find any errors?

I guess I learn a new thing everyday. It did have some errors. It's fixed now.

Thanks!
