Everything is not finding my music files.
They are stored in E:\Music
Everythings settings search the e: drive, with no exclusions.
The directory E:/Music does show up in Everything's main window, but the only files that are listed are "desktop.ini" for the E:/Music directory and each of its subdirectories.
I tried a force rebuild of the index but it did not resolve the issue
What might I be missing?
everything not finding music files
Re: everything not finding music files
You might have enabled the Document filter.
Change it to the Everything filter to show all files ( Menu:Search > Everything )
Suggestion:
Enable the filter bar. It will be shown nxt to the search bar, so you can see what filter is enabled:
Menu:View > Filters
The active filter is also shown in the status bar (if it different from the Everything filter).
Change it to the Everything filter to show all files ( Menu:Search > Everything )

Enable the filter bar. It will be shown nxt to the search bar, so you can see what filter is enabled:
Menu:View > Filters

Re: everything not finding music files
Check the settings under the Search menu item.
Might you have Case enabled, & your directory is named "MUSIC" rather then "Music"?

Re: everything not finding music files
That doesn't explain why the desktop.ini files are still shown.
Re: everything not finding music files
Attrib +H is set (in Everything)?
[Can you do that?]
[Can you do that?]
Re: everything not finding music files
Do you mean searching for to show files/folders that have the Hidden file-attribute set?
Or to add the Hidden attribute to a file?
That can be done through context menu > Properties > General Tab : enable Hidden
Or something else?

Thank you
NotNull had the right solution!
>> You might have enabled the Document filter.
(I didn't even know it was there, must have hit it by mistake somehow)
Thanks again
