Not detecting any NTFS volumes
Not detecting any NTFS volumes
So, I just installed new beta on my Win 2012 Server. I'm running it fr4om admin account with run as administrator option. Unfortunately, it still cannot detect any ntfs volumes.
Re: Not detecting any NTFS volumes
Are there any errors reported in your Errorlog.txt in your Everything installation folder?
Re: Not detecting any NTFS volumes
Ensure that you have exited completely from Everything, before (attempting) to run it as Administrator.
(I believe that has bit me more then once now.)

Re: Not detecting any NTFS volumes
Same here.
I installed everything on a win64 system no NTFS volumes are detected.
Now I'm using the folder changes index.
That works fine as well.
The only problem is the updates.
Updating every few minutes is not a great solution.
I just want to do an update when I open everything, a few times a day.
I have to go to options and click on Update Now.
Is there no way to add a button to the toolbar "update now" or a shortcut?

Re: Not detecting any NTFS volumes
Another thread mentioned rebooting your computer after Everything installation.
Give that a try & let us know.

Re: Not detecting any NTFS volumes
Hi,
have the same problem that none of my NTFS volues are shown. I use Windows 8 Pro 64Bit as os and Everything Version 1.3.0.632b.
I think it's a permission problem.
[*]if i run everything with administrator rights, then i see all local ntfs drives, but none of my mapped network drives and there is no way to add these.
[*]if i run everthing as user, i can't see my local ntfs drive, but all of my mapped network drives.
so i decided to use the second config and added local drives as folders c:\ and d:\.
i know that file changes on local drive are not detected in this way, but i can at least use my network drives.

Expected.
You have to run as Administrator (or you could try the Folder feature, as non-Admin).

You may be running into:
Missing network drives letters [as30b1x86 + W8 64]

You may be running into:
Mapped network drives not visibleThis is becaute drive mapping works under user context.
If you run something as administrator, you are runnig it as a different user.

Re: Not detecting any NTFS volumes
The problem was that I had the portable version.therube wrote:Another thread mentioned rebooting your computer after Everything installation.

I couldn't let it work with this version. With the folder option it worked fine.
I couldn't use however the ntfs feature.
I resolved everything installing "everything" with the installer.
