I have auto-add selected under Options > Index/NTFS and apparently it takes that NTFS too literally (Windows doesn't even recognize NTFS as something that's removable [there's no 'Eject' actuin even thought it is a USB drive - thereby actually removable]).
Need a way to make it auto-add whatever is removable without getting picky. For removable drives filesystem types even change in the course of time - these days it's exFAT (at least on the two currently attached) so anything too picky will always fail sooner or latter.
A flag somewhere ? In .ini maybe ?
Alternatively - a way to explicitly add drives under Index/NTFS ([Add] button missing) although that has the same mess-problem as adding to "Folders" - every time I plug something in I'd have to remember to go and add add it manually. And of course the "Folders" path is the worst since they are not folders - they are drives.
Version 1.4.1.1014 (x64)
I just saw (while searching for this) that there is a version 1.5 but I don't know if it's stable and really don't have the time to dig into one more thing now. Plus I never ever install so I'd have to remember how did I land as just a single .exe and .ini
How to make Everything add removable drives that are not NTFS
Re: How to make Everything add removable drives that are not NTFS
Everything 1.4 doesn't have support for automatically indexing exFAT volumes.
You'll need Everything 1.5 to automatically index exFAT volumes.
The Everything 1.5 core is quite stable, the UI is still being worked on.
Everything 1.5 has native support for FAT volumes.
To automatically index exFAT volumes in Everything 1.5:
