Re: How could one achieve that the available disk space and the other size values are ALWAYS updated automatically?
Currently, no.
The next alpha update will track changes to volume properties.
I will also have a command to reindex properties for the current selection (Ctrl + F5)
I'll make another post here once this is ready for testing.
Thank you for the suggestion.

Re: How could one achieve that the available disk space and the other size values are ALWAYS updated automatically?
Everything 1.5.0.1332a adds a Ctrl + F5 feature to reload the properties from the selected files.
To customize this shortcut:
Everything 1.5.0.1332a will now also track volume properties for root folders.
To customize this shortcut:
- In Everything, from the Tools menu, click Options.
- Click the Keyboard tab on the left.
- To the right of Show commands containing, type in: reindex
- Select File | Reindex Properties.
- Click Add to add a new keyboard shortcut
-or- - Click Edit to edit the existing keyboard shortcut.
- Click OK.
Everything 1.5.0.1332a will now also track volume properties for root folders.
Re: How could one achieve that the available disk space and the other size values are ALWAYS updated automatically?
That's very great, thank you very much! Without such those properties are not that usable, I have the impression.Everything 1.5.0.1332a will now also track volume properties for root folders.
So this means one does not need to take care of those properties (they are now treated the same like files, I assume), if you had done that at all.
Many thanks! But with that new feature / tracking function above this shortcut is not needed actually? Or in which case should one use it? Only if the properties are not (fully) indexed? When/how could this happen?Everything 1.5.0.1332a adds a Ctrl + F5 feature to reload the properties from the selected files.
It seems some icons are used in a different way or added or so in the folder panel as well. Very nice! Thank you!
Re: How could one achieve that the available disk space and the other size values are ALWAYS updated automatically?
Basically, the root folders are updated every second. So this means one does not need to take care of those properties (they are now treated the same like files, I assume), if you had done that at all.
You don't need to do anything to update these properties anymore.
Correct. But with that new feature / tracking function above this shortcut is not needed actually?
You shouldn't ever need to use Ctrl + F5.
It might be useful to reindex properties for files that went offline during indexing.
Re: How could one achieve that the available disk space and the other size values are ALWAYS updated automatically?
They are not automatically reindexed the next time when they are online again? It might be useful to reindex properties for files that went offline during indexing.
Re: How could one achieve that the available disk space and the other size values are ALWAYS updated automatically?
No.
If the drive that Everything is currently indexing properties for is unplugged, the property values will be treated as empty.
If you make a change to Tools -> Options -> Properties, then when you plug in offline volumes they are automatically reindexed.
In short, don't unplug drives when Everything is currently indexing properties and you'll be fine.

Re: How could one achieve that the available disk space and the other size values are ALWAYS updated automatically?
So only if the connection from the drive to computer is interrupted Everything goes on (trying) scanning the properties? Instead of stopping that? Why is that? Stopping doing this and go on scanning them when the drive is available again obviously is not possible? Or couldn't Everything treat the properties / files as just not indexed? As files with missing properties because they are not scanned yet?If the drive that Everything is currently indexing properties for is unplugged, the property values will be treated as empty.
So before unplugging one should have to / could open the main window and look for the green progress bar to make sure it is not indexing? Could there be used a (warning) symbol / another icon (e.g. with a exclamation mark in front of the Everything symbol) in the system trayIn short, don't unplug drives when Everything is currently indexing properties and you'll be fine.
/ that would show that currently Everything is indexing (also for the files)?
