To add your mobile phone to your Everything index:
  • In Everything 1.5, from the Tools menu, click Options.
  • Click the Folders tab.
  • Click Add....
  • Select your mobile phone under This PC and click OK.
  • Click OK.
Please make sure your phone is file transfer mode.

Please make sure no search options are checked under the Search menu (eg: uncheck match case, uncheck match whole words, uncheck regex)

Please make sure the Everything filter is active under the Search menu.

Please make sure you are not excluding files on your phone under Tools -> Options -> Exclude.

To add your mobile phone to your Everything index:

In Everything 1.5, from the Tools menu, click Options.
Click the Folders tab.
Click Add....
Select your mobile phone under This PC and click OK.
Click OK.
Do it again? Sorry, (if) why?
Please make sure your phone is file transfer mode.
I thought if the content already was displayed in explorer it would already be activated, isn't it?
Please make sure no search options are checked under the Search menu (eg: uncheck match case, uncheck match whole words, uncheck regex)

Yes, I did and now again:

I did, no files in the result list...ah, now. So I have to manually rescan the phone each time? (If so) Could one create a bookmark or shortcut or so to manually rebuild it?

Everything should keep the files on your phone in your index, even when your phone is offline.

It sounds like Everything performed a full rebuild while your phone was offline.

Please try clicking the Index menu, under the Rescan submenu, click your mobile phone.

Is there a way to always show the actions / processes just running in Everything shown in the status bar or else with e.g a coloured background or in another way so that it would be more recognizable?

Currently, no.

Everything will show "rescanning: This PC\My Mobile Phone" in the status bar.
If you hover over this status bar text, detailed scanning information is shown.

I will consider support to customize the status bar text color.
Thank you for the suggestion.

Hi, I have followed the steps as suggested but for some reason only files under the This PC\Android 13 Phone\Internal shared storage\Android\data\ directory show up in the results list/have been indexed. The other folders under This PC\Android 13 Phone\Internal shared storage\ show up in the folders directory side panel though, but no files populate result list when these other folders are clicked on.

Any ideas why this might be the case and how I can make Everything show all files under This PC\Android 13 Phone?

Are you excluding any files under Tools -> Options -> Exclude?

Are you omitting any results under Index -> Organize result omissions?

Please make sure the Everything filter is active under the Search menu.

Please make sure Everything is installed correctly and running as a standard user:
  • In Everything, from the Tools menu, click Options.
  • Click the General tab on the left.
  • Check Store settings and data in %APPDATA%\Everything.
  • Uncheck Run as administrator.
  • Check Everything Service. (Please make sure this is tick-checked and not square-checked)
  • Click OK.
  • Exit Everything (right click the Everything tray icon and click Exit).
  • Restart Everything.

Please try rescanning your mobile phone:
  • In Everything, from the Index menu, under the Rescan submenu, click This PC\Android 13 Phone.

Does the issue persist?

I noticed that the files under the other directories were not showing up in Windows File Explorer either. So I disconnected and connected the phone and then the files were visible in Windows File Explorer but still not in Everything. I then performed a search of all files under the top level directory of the phone in Windows File Explorer and when that finally finished, all the files were then visible in Everything. So now everything is visible in Everything, but it seems like peculiar behaviour. Thank you!
