Hello,
I get a popup on windows 10 after every restart asking something along the lines of "do you want to allow this application to make changes to your computer?" and have to click "yes" every time. There's a pointer saying you can adjust when you get this warning, but that then applies to all apps. I do want other potentially untrusted apps to trigger this warning, so cannot turn off this setting entirely. I didn't find any mention of this topic by others here, so they must be doing something to prevent getting a warning. I'd like to know if there is a way to turn off the popup every time, for this app specifically? Or do you guys manually approve this app to make changes to your hard drive every time?
Thanks in advance.
User Access Control warning on every restart
Re: User Access Control warning on every restart
To prevent the UAC prompt, please make sure Everything is installed correctly and running as a standard user:
- In Everything, from the Tools menu, click Options.
- Click the General tab on the left.
- Check Store settings and data in %APPDATA%\Everything.
- Uncheck Run as administrator.
- Check Everything Service. (Please make sure this is tick-checked and not square-checked)
- Click OK.
- Exit Everything (right click the Everything tray icon and click Exit).
- Restart Everything.
Re: User Access Control warning on every restart
This solved the issue, thank you so much. For everything.
Re: User Access Control warning on every restart
I love the program but this annoying warning still comes up after following the instructions. I checked "Everything Service" in "general" and unchecked "Run as administrator".
Why does the warning still appear?
Also, what do you mean which "not square-checked"?

Re: User Access Control warning on every restart
Thanks Void.
I still had run as administrator. Silly me.
It's a great program. Thanks.
