To stop Everything from automatically indexing volumes:
- In Everything, from the Tools menu, click Options.
- Click the NTFS tab on the left.
- Uncheck Automatically include fixed volumes.
- Uncheck Automatically include removable volumes.
- Uncheck Automatically remove offline volumes.
- Click OK.
