They all work the same way

Using a \ in your search term will automatically enable path matching.



Consider the following search:

path:windows notepad.exe

This will match:

C:\windows\notepad.exe

This doesn't work without the path: search modifier:

windows notepad.exe

Because Everything will look for windows in the name part (not the path)
