Thanks for the post index0123,

Could you please post your search so I can create the file for testing here (my Japanese is a little rusty).

Does Everything find the folder if you type in a partial search?

借金姉妹
If not does Everything 1.3.2.649b find this folder if you force a rebuild?

Thanks for the reply.

It looks like Everything is finding non-ascii (Japanese) characters ok (Everything uses utf-8 internally). But is missing folders from your index.

I wonder if Everything is excluding these folders because they are orphaned (missing parent folders).

Could you please exit Everything, delete your Everything.db and run Everything 1.2.1.371 in debug mode.

When Everything creates a new database it will report a lot of detailed information to the debug console. Could you please post this information.

Thanks for the debug output logs.

From the debug output I can see 1939 objects have been excluded from the db.

It is possible these are the missing items from your index, although I can not be 100% certain.

I assume you do not have any exclude filters set?
In which case these missing items maybe caused by a corrupt file system.

Please make a backup of anything important.
Please check your volumes for errors.

To check your J: volume for errors:
  • Right click your J: drive.
  • Click Properties.
  • Click the Tools tab.
  • Click Check Now...
  • Click Start.

corrupt file system is mean HDD or OS ?

The HDD of J:\ is WD GREEN LABEL 2TB. about using 2 year.

After runing command "chkdsk j: /f /r /x" to checking, it`s still not working for searching on J:
I try typeing same path on C:. (another HDD) Everything has return. it look like HDD problem.
I known two HDDs has some problem after rebuilding OS. :(

Thanks for the update.
Glad to hear Everything is now working.
Is possible to setting do not exclude the 1939 objects ?
Unforunately, these objects are missing vital information and can not be included in the index.
I have added more detail to the verbose debugging for the next release of Everything to list these issues as the current versions of Everything only report the number of objects excluded.
I seem find solution way.
Adding the index attribute to all the files appears to have fixed the file system.
Everything does not need the index attribute set.

It is normal for Everything to exclude 5-30 files or folders.
There are always a few internal ntfs folders and files which can not be included (MFT, change journal etc).

Also, I would recommend making a backup of anything important on your J drive.
