Hi, I am looking for a program that moves or copies files and is customizable by rules. For instance when copying/moving I would like to be able to indicate:
“overwrite files of the same name (IF they have the same size AND name) otherwise rename”
Anybody actually knows a program that is customizable in this fashion? I’d like the program to be able to either replace standard windows copier/mover or is launchable from rightclick menu.
Programs I found so far do have preset rules but those are too simple for my needs (for instance only ‘rename if same name’).

I've been using the free version of Teracopy for quite a while..It also has verification.

Hi, thanks Harryray! I do know this program, does it have the possibility to set advanced rules on the ‘receiving’ side? Regards, Kazzy
Re: File and folder copying/moving with rules
To a degree, yes. There are other options in the preferences menu. The omly flaw, as far as I can see, is with skip all, it appears to skip everything with the same file name without taking the size and date into consideration. I just use this when there are a large amount of files.
There may be a way round this, so I'm going to look into it more closely.
What I particularly like is the verification.

Thanks!
Yes Teracopy is a great tool indeed.
There is however a recurring situation in which I need deeply customizable rules.

I would be interested to know if you find one.

apparently TeraCopy has in consideration to add a 'collision rules' section
