Thanks for keeping up with the date , David. Lots of new interesting features.....Way to go MAN!
Home page essentially means "close" and "Open" the window? This one works fine.
I also tried the bookmark route , where I created "home" ,kept "OFF" all the checkbox options. I tried adding a few modifiers like wholeword ,case. Clicking home from bookmark , erases the search but the modifiers remain...
Ok Thanks! That seemed to have solved that.
But with due humility does it not contradict "remember" . What I thought presumably was "Remember" WWord brings back WW modifier if it was used (or Not if it was not used) before pressing "Home" and the compulsory "Match WW"will bring it up even if did not exist in the previous search. Both the columns which I thought were independent are acting in tandem.
If remember is unchecked, then that setting is not saved to the bookmark.
When you open the bookmark, settings that are not remembered are left unchanged.
That is why you are seeing match path left enabled when opening a bookmark.
there are some aspects that i don't understand concerning 'home' feature:
let's say i have 'roxette' entry in search edit
if i press alt+home (go to home), search edit gets blank (according to my settings)
it's not that important but is there a way to restore that 'roxette' ?
i thought that options ---> keyboard ---> view ---> go to ---> back does it but it's not
my impression is that both 'go to back' and 'go to forward' do nothing in 1.3.3.656
apparently i just failed to comprehend their function
i'm also a bit surprised that main menu ---> view ---> go to only contains 'home' but lacks 'back' and 'forward'
The Back and Forward become active if you have at least 2 searches without closing the window. The search history is added there only if you press enter after you type what you search for or use the drop down list of old searches(Tools=>Options=>General=>History)
Alt+Home uses what you set in Tools=>Options=>General=>Home=>Search
If It's "Use last value",it won't do anything,if you use custom,it will search for what you set there
