Currently Everything is shown by XP Task Manager as using 124 MB of memory. With no search entered, about 2.5 M 'objects' are listed. Presumably that 124 MB is mainly taken up by the index?
I recently added my 2 TB external drive to the indexable drive list. 95% of that drive's space is mainly backups. I wouldn't like to lose the other 5% from search results, but guess that's a sacrifice I may have to make.

Memory usage?
Re: Memory usage?
Hello Terry.
(Ctrl+P for quick Options access): Can you select the option 'Hide results when the search is empty' found under Tools > Options > General > Results
Please reply with any changes/reduced Memory use you may see.

Re: Memory usage?
Thanks Purgatory. Just did as you suggested and memory usage changed from 134 to 125 MB.
Edit: Any thoughts from the author please? Is 125 MB excessive?
