Multiples or nothing

Post by CWBillow »

I run Everything from a button on the Directory Opus toolbar. If I have it set to allow multiple instances, all is fine -- except that it never unloads, so that I could end up with 20+ instances.

If I don't allow multiples, the process remains in memory and won't allow the loading of the screen at the next try.

What do I have set wrongly here?

I'm running Wn-7 Ultimate.

What do you mean by that?

Clicking the close button (on each window) should close that window, with the (possible) exception of the last remaining window which may "close" to the system Tray (depending on the setting for: Options | View (tab) -> General => Minimize to tray) in which case you would have to right-click the Tray icon & select Exit.

Unless there is something in Directory Opus that is holding things open. If that is the case, then maybe adjust what the icon "does". Like instead of the icon running "everything.exe" perhaps, "START everything.exe" or "CMD /C everything.exe". (I know nothing of DO.)

What I mean is what is showing in the attached pic. That happens regardless of whether I exit Everything with the Close command or the "X" button.

I even did it "straight" from Everything's icon, not through DO to eliminate any variable there. This happens even with Multiple Windows and Multiple Instances both unchecked OR checked.

I have to go into Task Mgr, kill all the processes, and then it will load again -- once, and then it starts again just stacking up processes.
