Independent sizing of containers within tabs

Currently when you resize a container within a tab, such as resizing the folder bar or preview pane, it resizes them for all tabs.
I can see how this came about historically since tabs were added on after, and perhaps it uses less resources too in some way with the current arrangement.
In my experience of using tabs, which I'm sure I'm not alone in, the sizing of containers within a tab needs to be just for the tab concerned. I couldn't spot an existing option for this.
In terms of implementation I'm presuming either it could remember the sizings for each tab and adjusts the containers whenever you switch tab, or they might be separate objects and naturally remember their sizes, so I'm envisaging the idea is fairly straightforward.
No doubt an option could be provided whether any resizing is per tab or for all.

An option to have independent sidebar widths per tab is on my TODO list.
