I've only just found Everything and am really impressed with how quick it is! Looking around the various menus and the help files and forum I'm beginning to get to grips with it, but there is one thing I can't find - perhaps it's not possible?
Is there an option to make sure that whenever I open Everything, it is set to search in a particular folder? (e.g. when I open Everything, the search bar already has "D:\Data\FamilyTree\Notes" in it)
I know I can set bookmarks, and have a shortcut key for them, but as I use the program to search one particular folder most of the time, it would be useful if it always opened with that pre-set, as it were.
I know I can tell it to remember the last search, but although that means it opens in the right folder, it still has the old search which I then have to delete before entering the new search. Also, it opens with the search selected, so if I start typing something it overwrites everything.
A related question (not very important, but I wondered about it): when you use a bookmark it places the folder path in the search bar, and you then have to type a space before typing the search. Is it possible to include that space in the bookmark? I tried by adding it to the end of the path in the Name field when editing the bookmark, but that dodn't work.
Thanks,
Ilke
Starting in a specific folder
Re: Starting in a specific folder
Everything.exe -s D:\Data\FamilyTree\Notes\
Re: Starting in a specific folder
Do you mean that's what I have to use as the target for the shortcut?
