Is there a setting in Everything to show hidden files?

Yes, Tools - Options - Exclude tab - uncheck "hidden files and folders"

If you wish to search for hidden files, please try the following search:
attrib:h

Please note: attrib:h will be slow as this information is not indexed by default.
To index attribute information:

• In Everything, from the Tools menu, click Options.
• Click the Indexes tab on the left.
• Check Index attributes.
• Click OK.

With index attributes enabled, search for attrib:h will be instant.
