Previously I could search for *.pdf, get the list, then double click on an item to open in adobe reader. Now when I double click, it starts the Adobe Reader task in taskMgr, but does not open the file. Repeated double clicks to open, result in multiple instances of processes for Adobe Reader showing up in taskMgr with no visible AR UI.
I'm using the most current version, Everything-1.4.1.877.x64, as both portable and as service in Win10, same result
The pdf can be opened directly from explorer by a double click once the processes for Adobe Reader in taskMgr are killed.
This did work previously.

Re: Cannot open pdf from everything search list
Just tried Everything-1.3.4.686.x86-Setup 'run as admin' and this DOES work to open a PDF from the search list
Re: Cannot open pdf from everything search list
I'm not sure it's actually a bug. I'd call it a quirk.
If you disable the Preview window it seems to work fine and opens any file.
If you have the Preview window enabled try clicking on the file once so it shows in the preview window. Then double click on the pdf icon in front of the file name. That seems to work for me.
If i click directly on the file name i get mixed results, sometimes it opens the file & other times it just allows me to change the file name.
This seems to work in either 'Run as Administrator' or disabled. Doesn't matter.
P.S.
Added after more testing: if you click/load a file into the preview window wait until it's finished displaying. Wait another second or so, then double click the file, even on the name itself. Seems to work for me that way.

Re: Cannot open pdf from everything search list
Please try running Everything as a standard user:
- In Everything, from the Tools menu, click Options.
- Click the General tab on the left.
- Check Everything service.
- Uncheck Run as administrator.
- Restart Everything (right click the Everything tray icon and click Exit).
- Click OK.
