Windows 10
Windows 10
Hi, any problem with Windows 10 ? Everything seems to hang and not saving the db. Hmm...
Re: Windows 10
No, no problem here with Windows 10 x64
and actual Everything running as a service.

Re: Windows 10
What is displayed in the debug console when Everything hangs?
Re: Windows 10
I don't have problems with the app hanging, but the search database hasn't been updated with new files since I upgraded to Win10. (The service is running.)
Re: Windows 10
I haven't had any issues with searching on Windows 10 (I've used it on 2 different computers). However, there's a UI problem on the Surface 3 Pro. When scrolling the results window using either touch on the screen or 2 finger scrolling on the touchpad, the vertical scrollbar on the right side of the window moves, but the contents of the window do not scroll, they remain static as if you are not scrolling. Scrolling using the scrollbar on the right does not have this issue. Also, using a scrollwheel on a mouse does not have this issue.
I've Windows 10 on a desktop as well as my Surface Pro 3. On the desktop with the mouse there are no scrolling issues and when I connect a mouse to the Surface Pro 3, I can scroll with it's scrollwheel no problem. It's just the touchpad and screen that don't scroll. I haven't had a chance to try touchpads on other laptop devices so I don't know if this is a Surface specific issue or a general touch(pad) scrolling issue in in Windows 10.
I've experienced the same behaviour in another program (but I can't remember which one now) so it's rare but not completely specific to Everything. Perhaps Everything is using some API or framework which needs to be updated for Windows 10?
Any way to integrate Everything into Windows 10 native search or Cortana/search bar?

Re: Windows 10
Thanks for the scrolling bug report.
Everything is not handling SB_THUMBPOSITION correctly, I'll post a fix soon.

Re: Windows 10
I have been using Everything for many years.
The only bug I see in Win 10 is that the window that opens always spans multiple monitors, and is thus huge and unwieldy to manage.
Please note that this seems to happen primarily when running multiple monitors, and that I have a laptop (main monitor) with a 4K screen. My other external screens are HD or 2180x1440.
Thank you, great tool, indispensable!

Does Everything save the window position after closing and reopening it?The only bug I see in Win 10 is that the window that opens always spans multiple monitors, and is thus huge and unwieldy to manage.
What DPI scale are you using?
The default window client size should be 778 x 605 pixels with a DPI of 96.
When opening an Everything window, Everything should position the window so it fits on a single monitor (if it is not too big).
If you are seeing something else, please let me know.
Re: Windows 10
I'm having a similar issue where scrolling with the touchpad moves the scroll bar only but the results don'T scroll until I click on the results pane. I never had this issue on windows 7.Magritte wrote:I haven't had any issues with searching on Windows 10 (I've used it on 2 different computers). However, there's a UI problem on the Surface 3 Pro. Is this a known bug?
Re: Windows 10
It should have been fixed in Everything 1.4, what version of Everything are you using?
Re: Windows 10
I was running 1.3.4 because it was the first link in the download page. Installed 1.4.1 beta and everything works fine. Thanks!!
