Everything not Searching within Zip Folders
Re: Everything not Searching within Zip Folders
What is a "Zip Folder"?
Is that like an (Iomega) "Zip Drive"?
Is it formatted NTFS?
Is it recognized as a fixed or removable device?
Anything in Options | Indexes that relates?
If its not NTFS you may be able to use the Folders feature.

Re: Everything not Searching within Zip Folders
Hi the rube, thanks for your reply. A zip folder is what happens when you right click a folder in Windows and then select "Send To" then select "Compressed Zipped Folder"
This folder is on my C drive. Curiously the program will find the title of the non-zipped folder within that folder but will not identify its contents.
I dont get the last line. I have over 8000 files in around 28 zipped folders. I do not know exactly which folder has what so I need Everything to do that for me.

Re: Everything not Searching within Zip Folders
Everything can't index the content of Zip files !
The index is based on the NTFS Mft which does not contain any information of any file contents at all.

Ah, I see. Had never done that before.
And in the end, you end up with a ZIP file .
And no, Everything will not search within a ZIP file (or any type of file or "container", even if MS calls it a "folder") .
Though it will find the file name.
