Good Morning!
I've been using Everything on all 5 of my computers for a long time now - thanks for such a great tool!
Today, I found out about the "ETP Server" feature. This is great, because I primarially use Windows 7 and it's search function is horrible - especially for mapped drives. The only issue is that I already have an FTP server set up on my computer running Windows Server 2003 R2.
I tried setting up the server like this...
- (Windows Firewall was/is Off & no 3rd party Firewall installed)
- In ETP/FTP options, changed port to 20 (Tried a few others, too)
- Left Username/Password/Firewall Host blank
- Set ETP/FTP Server FIrewall Port to 20 (Or whichever port I was using)
- Set log file to new txt file on root of partition different than OS
When I tried to connect from my Windows 7 x64 machines, It said "Connection Refused"
I tried many different combonations & even though the Windows Firewall was off, added the port & app to it's exceptions. I also downloaded Advanced Port Scanner and scanned against the server. It didn't show the port opened, but I don't know what else to try.
Note: To completely make sure I was doing this right, I set up an ETP Server the same way (even with diff port) on a different computer running Windows 7 x86. I was able to connect to it without issue.
Any Suggestions? Thanks!
Using ETP Server on Windows Server /w Different Port

Okay - finally figured it out. Guess IP didn't work and had to connect with Hostname - Thanks!
